    Bisabolol: Product Introduction

Bisabolol is a sesquiterpene alcohol compound widely found in plants such as chamomile and myrrh. It possesses excellent anti-inflammatory, soothing, and repairing effects, and is widely used in cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceuticals, especially suitable for sensitive skin. YTBIO provides high-quality natural and synthetic bisabolol to meet different application scenarios and cost requirements.

    Product Efficacy and Features

    Anti-inflammatory and Soothing Effects

Bisabolol fundamentally reduces the production of key inflammatory mediators such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins by inhibiting the activity of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) and cyclooxygenase (COX), effectively relieving skin erythema, edema, and stinging caused by chemical irritation and UV radiation.

    Powerful Antioxidant

As a natural antioxidant, bisabolol can scavenge excess free radicals caused by UV radiation and environmental pollution, enhance the activity of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), reduce lipid peroxidation, protect the skin from oxidative stress damage, and slow down skin aging.

    Repairing the Skin Barrier

Bisabolol can activate keratinocyte proliferation and promote the repair of damaged skin barriers. It also helps enhance the function of the sebum film, maintain the skin's water-oil balance, and accelerate wound healing.

Studies have found that α-bisabolol can promote wound healing (effective medium concentration ED50 is 155 µg/mL), and in mouse experiments, it was effective when used immediately after wound suturing. This effect may be related to its specific chemical structure. Although it has little effect on fibroblast migration, it still accelerates the healing process. The figure below illustrates its role in skin diseases and wound healing.

    Broad-spectrum antibacterial activity

Bisabolol has inhibitory effects on common skin pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acnes.

    Stable Performance

Bisabolol possesses a lipid-soluble molecular structure, allowing it to effectively penetrate the stratum corneum of the skin to exert its effects. It also exhibits good stability in formulations, resisting oxidation and decomposition.
